Martial Arts are the first physical activities I was introduced to. I started with judo, aikido, ju-jitsu, and then karate.

These arts taught me discipline, patience, organization, anger and fear management, and respect. Respect towards people, entities, and values.

I stopped practicing arts for a long time and became more focused on basketball. Until I felt the need in 2019 to get away momentarily from team sports and get back to fighting individually, that’s when I went this time for a modern fighting sport: kickboxing.

Even though it had been a long time since the last time I practiced fighting, I still had a lot of notions and techniques from what I learned as a kid, and I could compete with the club's most talented boxers.

My agility, lightness and quickness, combined with my size, length and power, gave me a considerable advantage over many boxers of all sizes.

I was getting prepared by my coach to become one of the few official competitors in the club and to have my first fight at the end of the season, but then it was canceled due to COVID-19.

My perspective evolved after that, and boxing became too violent for me, so I went back to basketball and started to play chess more intensively.

Movie Making

I created a mini-movie about emotional management based on a clip of me and one of the best competitors, who also happens to be a good friend.

It is called “An Introspective Fighting Tale” and I posted it on my Instagram account “nchimindscape”. I’ll dive into the purpose of this account in the next section.
